espnW covered the 2014 Hermosa Beach Championships and the NVL’s differing approach from the AVP in an article examining the growth of beach volleyball. espnW captured the essence of the NVL tour – laid-back, welcoming and intimate – which was the vision of NVL’s CEO & co-founder, AL-B Hannemann, when he established the league in 2010.

NVL continues to be focused on growing the sport at the grassroots level and sharing the beach lifestyle with fans.  The NVL’s junior tour has seen tremendous growth in the past year with 5,000 members signing up within a couple of months. The NVL’s latest venture is a partnership with Club Med and developing a world-class training facility in Port St. Lucie, FL. Hannemann sees an opportunity to develop the kids, not only as athletes, but to provide them with an education.
